Techno Sky S.r.l. is constantly commited to technical innovation, backed up by investments amounting to approximately 10% of its net sales in the study and implementation of new and more effective techniques and methodologies for technical assistance and maintenance of ATC Systems.

During the years, Research & Development activities have been a key contributor to the success of Techno Sky and the company strongly believes that technical innovation is a determining factor for continuous improvement and market competitiveness.

Advanced measuring and modern predictive maintenance systems are the most innovative results obtained through the activities of the company’s Research & Development.

Moreover, particular attention is given to the study of innovative systems required for the company’s core business and hence linked to maintenance engineering models.  Said research studies are aimed at providing maintenance with advanced and adequate methodological and technological tools, at the same time promoting organizational improvement: maintenance seen as an innovation strategy and an element of constant development.

Among the main activities in which Research & Development is currently involved the following should be mentioned:

  • study for the analysis of integrated airport security systems; 
  • study of the GPS signal multipath through SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) analysis; 
  • study/trials relating to AD (Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast) systems performance and utilization and ATC multilateration; 
  • study for the integration of an “Analyzer of the level of technical/functional availability of ATC services”; 
  • study of Mobile Computing technologies to support maintenance (Maintenance Advanced Procedures Innovative Real Time Operations - MAPIRO);
  • study of predictive maintenance systems;
  • study for the identification and localization of maintenance items (eg. RFID: Radio Frequency Identification, etc.);
  • study of monitoring system for signals typically present in an airport environment (MEVIV: Monitoring Electromagnetic & Video Infrared Viewer);
  • engineering of control room with particular regard to HMI: Human Machine Interface;
  • study and development of a mobile station for field analysis (Vehicle for Vor and ILs MAintenance - V2ILMA);
  • study and development of an aerodrome remote alarm system (Aerodrome Remote Alarm System - ARAS).
