

On Sunday 24 June at 9.00 a.m., the 16th Global ATM Summit of CANSO (Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation), the world organisation for air traffic control companies, opened at the Rome Cavalieri Hotel. The meeting was opened by Massimo Garbini, ENAV CEO and President of CANSO Europe, and the CANSO CEO Paul Riemens. For the first time in Italy, the conference was attended by the top representatives of air traffic control service provider from 69 countries. In 2011, CANSO members handled 85% of world air traffic, with approximately 44 million movements carrying 2.8 billion passengers. The event concluded on 26 June.
